Emergency Response Africa

Emergency Response Africa (ERA) is a healthcare technology company dedicated to improving emergency medical services across Africa, starting with Nigeria. ERA was founded to address the challenges faced during medical emergencies in the region, where many people lack access to timely care. It connects people experiencing emergencies to the nearest available first responders, ambulances, and hospitals, leveraging a tech-enabled platform to ensure swift assistance.

ERA operates through a network of first responders, emergency vehicles, and emergency-ready hospitals. Their platform, known as “Signal,” ensures smart dispatching and seamless communication, which reduces response times to as low as nine minutes in cities like Lagos. The service has been crucial for addressing common emergency situations such as road accidents, cardiovascular issues, and pregnancy complications(Emergency Response Africa)(Disrupt Africa).

In addition to emergency response, ERA provides training programs in First Aid, CPR, and Basic Life Support, aimed at empowering individuals and corporate organizations with life-saving skills. These programs are part of ERA’s larger goal to build a community of responders across Nigeria(BellaNaija).

The company, which launched its pilot in 2021, has grown significantly and is expanding its services across Nigeria and beyond, aiming to address the broader healthcare challenges in Africa.
